Orphan Care

Our vision is to join God as He calls us in James 1:27, to minister to local and international orphans by meeting their physical and emotional needs, and to share the message of hope through Jesus Christ despite their "hopeless" circumstances. We also purpose to support foster and adoptive families as they respond to this biblical call.

Trip to East Asia 2010

When are we going?

The dates will be July 1-12, 2010.

Why is Orphan Care Ministry going?

Brian and Wendy helped start OCM three years ago and have also adopted two girls from East Asia. We will be supporting Brian and Wendy who are volunteering with New Day Creations.

Where will we stay?

New Day is located in a family village. There is a 5-bedroom guest house which can accommodate teams of up to 26 people, but we find a team of around 10-15 as being the best size to work with.

How will I serve?

Types of volunteers needed: medical, teaching, youth groups, etc. Whatever gifts you have, they would be a blessing here.

Our teams mostly work in our foster home and with our English language school (see New Day Creations's website for details). There are also opportunities to serve in the community or with our business/manufacturing company.

How much will it cost?
Most teams that come to New Day budget about $2,500 per person to cover the cost of air fare, visas, and all expenses while they are in East Asia.

Host an Orphan In Your Home

Like a mission trip that comes to your door, you have the opportunity care for an orphan boy or girl for 4 weeks this winter. Take him for his first dentist appointment, feed her healthy foods, get him his first pair of glasses, teach her how a safe and loving family works, and most importantly, share God the Perfect Father with him. Go to the New Horizons for Children website and click on "hosting", then "children's photolisting." Type your name/city into the blanks on the bottom right hand corner (scroll all the way down) and you can view pictures and bios of the available children.

Absolutely can't host?

Pray that a family will be drawn strongly, not just to these six children, but to each child on the website. Pray for the children's heartaches, life stores, strengths, and futures.
Pass the website and information along to your church, friends and family members.
Provide scholarship money for a child to which you are drawn.
