"but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." Acts 1:8
Reading through the Gospels and the book of Acts we observe the following components of being an effective witness to God’s grace in Christ: compassionate service, boldness, prayer, love, and a clear, verbal declaration of the core aspects of the gospel – Jesus’s life, death, resurrection, and the need to repent and accept these truths by faith. This combination of loving service and verbal proclaiming of the gospel is what makes for a faithful witness for Christ.
Our relationships with friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers is a great place to start being a witness. Most often, people come to Christ because of a friend or acquaintance who took the time to witness to them. You can start by prayerfully considering 2-3 people you in your life who don’t know the Lord. Pray for them, and ask the Lord to open up an opportunity to share your faith.
Cherrydale desires to equip believers to be actively and intentionally sharing their faith with their friends, neighbors, relatives and others around them. Every fall, the elective, Making Disciples which is led by our Missions and Outreach Pastor, is offered on Sundays at Cherrydale. Consider taking this elective as a small group or individual this coming year.
